The Student Loans Company (SLC) is a public sector organisation charged with administering government funded loans to students in the UK. Working together with local governments and other educational bodies, it is responsible for student support services in the United Kingdom.
Functions of the The Student Loans Company include:-
- disbursing loans to students at the beginning of each term
- disburse tuition fees to educational establishments
- liaising with HM Revenue & Customs
The Student Loans Company also administers payment of bursaries and scholarships to educational institutions throughout the country.
